A significant development has emerged amidst the ongoing agitation in Rajasthan demanding a rollback of UGC norms. A young man named Devraj died during the protest, prompting the Karni Sena to intensify its agitation. The organization alleged that Devraj died as a result of a police water cannon blast. Subsequently, the Karni Sena issued an ultimatum to lay siege to the Chief Minister&#8217;s residence, putting forward three key demands. The government has agreed to two of these: the deceased&#8217;s family will receive \u20b921 lakh in compensation and a job. Devraj Singh was participating in the protest organized by the Rajput Karni Sena in the capital, Jaipur, against the UGC norms. He died suddenly during the demonstration. Following his death, the Karni Sena alleged that the police had used water cannons on the protesters and that this action claimed Devraj&#8217;s life. The state government has agreed to two of the Karni Sena&#8217;s three main demands. This decision followed talks between BJP State President Madan Rathore and Rajput Karni Sena National President Mahipal Makrana. After the meeting, it was announced that the family of the deceased, Devraj Singh, would receive financial assistance of \u20b921 lakh. Additionally, the government assured that a family member would be provided a job on a contractual basis.
