Uttarkashi disaster… All rest houses will be available to pilgrims free of cost: Hemant Dwivedi, Chairman,BKTC


Dehradun: Its good gesture by the BKTC on this tuff time. BKTC has also come forward to help in the case of heavy rain disaster on Shri Gangotri Marg Dharali Uttarkashi. At this sad time, President BKTC Hemant Dwivedi announced that all the rest houses of BKTC located on the Chardham Yatra route will be available to the pilgrims free of cost.
Shri Badrinath – Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) President Hemant Dwivedi has expressed grief over the loss of life and property due to heavy rain in Dharali located on Shri Gangotri Dham Marg in Uttarkashi and has appealed to the pilgrims to visit the Dhams as per the weather forecast. In this context, the BKTC President has ordered to make all the Dharamshalas and rest houses located on the Yatra route of Shri Badrinath – Kedarnath Temple Committee available to the pilgrims free of cost in case of disaster and heavy rain. This year, no fee will be charged from the Char Dham pilgrims in any disaster or crisis during the rainy season. Official orders have been issued in this regard. It is known that due to heavy rains, Shri Badrinath – Kedarnath Yatra route is also getting obstructed at many places, due to which pilgrims are not able to reach their destination on time. In such a situation, the temple committee has taken this decision to help the pilgrims for residential arrangements. It is worth mentioning that BKTC has Dharamshalas / Rest Houses located in Rishikesh, Devprayag, Tehri, Ghanshali, Pauri, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Guptkashi, Sonprayag and Chamoli, Nandprayag, Joshimath, Shri Badrinath Dham on Shri Badrinath route, where a limited fee is charged from the pilgrims for residential arrangements.
