UP : Close associate of Mukhtar Ansari Shoaib Kidwai alias Bobby shot dead

20 to 25 rounds of ammunition led to his death

Barabanki: Shoaib Kidwai alias Bobby, a close associate of Mukhtar Ansari, was shot dead in broad daylight in Barabanki, UP. The incident occurred on the Lucknow-Ayodhya highway on Friday afternoon, spreading panic throughout the area. Shoaib Kidwai was traveling from Lucknow to Barabanki. As soon as he got off the highway, bike-borne assailants surrounded his car near Aseni turn. The attackers opened indiscriminate fire from both sides. According to police, more than a dozen bullets were fired at Shoaib. Bullet marks were found at several places on the car. The scene of the rapid firing created a sensation. Five empty cartridges were recovered from the scene. Shoaib was seriously injured by the bullets. He was immediately rushed to the hospital by the city police station, but doctors declared him dead. Shoaib was a longtime associate of Mukhtar Ansari and a former Banki block chief. He was named in several criminal cases, including the Lucknow jailer murder case.
