Muni Ki Reti: A press conference was held on Thursday for the International Yoga Festival (IYF 2026) to be held at the GMVN Ganga Resort from March 16th to 22nd. GMVN MD Prateek Jain presented the festival’s outline in front of Journalists.
Regarding the seven-day International Yoga Festival, Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam Managing Director Prateek Jain met with journalists and provided information about the upcoming Yoga Festival 2026, scheduled from March 16th to 22nd. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will inaugurate the Yoga Festival on March 16th. Governor Late. General (Retd.) Gurmeet Singh will attend the closing ceremony on March 22nd. During the press conference, Jain stated that the week-long Yoga Festival will be held in a divine and grand manner this year, with the participation of local people and welcoming foreign guests in keeping with our traditions and culture. He said that on March 16th, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will inaugurate this program at 10 am, in which state ministers and MLAs are likely to participate. In this Yoga Mahotsav, knowledge and experiences will be shared with yoga practitioners through learned yoga teachers on various elements of yoga, pranayama, and yoga every day. This time, yoga practitioners will be informed about its importance by conducting a yoga class at Mahesh Yogi Ashram Swargashram Pauri, so that it can attract tourists as a heritage site. He said that this time, seven days a week, experts in different disciplines will address them, in which you can share your curiosity and reach conclusions. In the evening, after the regular Ganga Aarti, there will be devotional songs, bhajans, and an opportunity to learn about the culture and civilization of Uttarakhand and our country. In this, famous bhajan singers Anup Jalota, ISKCON Bhaktimaya, Narendra Singh Negi and other cultural teams will present yoga, spirituality, and devotional songs. The Ganges will showcase the cultural colors of the country.
Managing Director Jain stated that the Yoga Mahotsav program will be organized by promoting public participation. Your suggestions and ideas are welcome. He stated that to bring yoga to every household, the corporation may soon take a final decision on conducting yoga and pranayama classes in Dehradun. He stated that a cross-country route will be organized during the Yoga Mahotsav, starting from the Ganga Resort, passing through Ramjhula Marine Drive, Swargashram, etc., and ending at the Ganga Resort via Janaki Setu, Beatles Ashram, etc. So far, 25 yoga institutes have been contacted and their practitioners have been assured of participation in the Yoga Mahotsav. Many renowned yoga teachers will showcase their talents to yoga practitioners. Participants include Vipin Joshi, Laxmi Narayan Joshi, Dr. Manoj Rangad (Osho), Art of Living guru and spiritual luminary C.C. Ravi Shankar, Shanti Kunj’s Gayatri Parivar, Patanjali Renowned people from Yoga Peeth and other institutions can participate and deliver lectures. The programme is to conclude on March 22 in the presence of the Governor of Uttarakhand and other guests.
