Ujjain : 13 burnt in fire in the sanctum sanctorum of Mahakal in Ujjain, CM Mohan Yadav inquired about the condition of the injured

A fire broke out in the Mahakaleshwar temple in the religious city of Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh due to gulal being thrown during the Bhasma Aarti, due to which 13 people including the priest got burnt. District Magistrate Neeraj Singh has ordered a magisterial inquiry into this accident. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reached Indore and then Ujjain to know the condition of the injured. Besides, financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh has also been announced. It is told that after Bhasma Aarti, Aarti was being performed by the priest present in the sanctum sanctorum. Meanwhile, on the occasion of Holi, Abir and Gulal were blown, due to which the fire broke out due to Gulal falling on the burning flame in the Aarti thali. Also, the clothes with which the silver portion was covered also caught fire and 13 people including several priests present in the sanctum sanctorum got burnt. Everyone has been taken to the hospital for treatment. Eight people have suffered serious burn injuries in this accident, who have been sent to Indore for treatment.

Ashish, the priest of Mahakal temple, has told that after Bhasma Aarti, gulal was being flown. During this time the fire broke out and the priest present there and other people got burnt and all were taken to the hospital for treatment. As soon as information about this accident was received, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reached Indore hospital from Bhopal and inquired about the condition of the injured and gave instructions to the doctors for better treatment. He has said, instructions have been given to make arrangements for better treatment of the injured in the accident that took place during Bhasma Aarti at Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, and an assistance amount of Rs 1 lakh each will also be provided to the injured. By the grace of Baba Mahakal, there has been no major loss, but instructions have also been given to make proper arrangements so that such accidents do not happen again in future.

After Indore, the Chief Minister reached District Hospital, Ujjain and inquired about the well-being of the injured. Also prayed to Baba Mahakal for everyone’s speedy recovery. Ujjain Collector Neeraj Kumar Singh has accepted that 13 people got burnt in this accident and has also ordered a magisterial inquiry. The entire incident will be investigated by Chief Executive Officer, District Panchayat Mrinal Meena and Additional Collector Anukul Jain. Collector Singh has instructed the investigation committee to submit its report in three days.

Local people say that the gulal that was being flown. There is a possibility of camphor being present in it and due to that the fire broke out. A large number of people were present in the temple premises at that time, but the situation was quickly brought under control and the fire was brought under control. On Sunday, Holi of flowers was played in the court of Baba Mahakal in the morning and Holika Dahan was done in the evening. On Monday morning, after Bhasma Aarti, Holi was being played with Abir Gulal with Baba Mahakal, during which this accident happened.
