In the program of congratulations organized in the Municipal Corporation on Sunday, the Mayor said that the success achieved after completion of three years of the corporation’s tenure is a historic achievement. The condition of all the toilets in the city was very bad. The corporation lacked the budget to build new toilets. He told that plans were made after accepting it like a challenge. Due to strong correspondence and good grip in governance, it was successful in providing financial funds to the city. As a result of this, hi-tech toilets came into existence in the internationally renowned religious and tourist city of Rishikesh and renovation of old toilets started. 50 thousand dustbins were distributed free of cost to the residents. Monitoring of vehicles through GPS in vehicles was started for door to door garbage collection by purchasing 20 new garbage vehicles for regular lifting of garbage from dustbins in the city. The work of disposal of legacy waste started in the trenching ground and today after all the efforts of Bhagirath, the result is in front of everyone. He said that after securing the first position in Uttarakhand, now our aim is to come to the top position in the country. For this cleanliness competition will be organized in all forty wards.
