Rishikesh : Public awareness programs were organized at various places under the aegis of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, AIIMS Rishikesh on the occasion of World AIDS Day. During this, through street plays and other programs, the methods of prevention were explained to the patients, their relatives, common citizens and school students about AIDS.
On ‘World AIDS Day’ by AIIMS Rishikesh on Wednesday, under the supervision of Professor Vartika Saxena, Head of the Department of Community and Family Medicine, the faculty members of the department, SR and JR doctors and PG students were made aware of AIDS among the general public at various places.
A street play was organized under the leadership of Dr. Meenakshi Khapre outside the trauma center located in the institute campus, in which the team explained the symptoms of AIDS, causes of spread of the disease and measures to prevent it through theatrical presentation to the common citizens. The street play ‘Dekha Jayega’, organized under the joint aegis of CFM Department of AIIMS, General Medicine and Acting Committee, explained to the patients and their relatives how this disease can prove to be fatal and fatal due to negligence. It was told that this disease does not spread by touching each other. Rather, the disease spreads from person to person through unprotected sex, HIV infected blood or infected needles. During this, MPH students Dr. Anupam, Dr. Gaurikha Saxena and Dr. Athulya etc. were involved.
On the other hand, a health discussion was organized on the subject of AIDS at Narpal Singh Inter College, Ranipokhari Thana. During this, AIIMS doctors gave detailed information about AIDS disease to the students of classes 7 to 12. During the health discussion, the students were made aware about the infection of the disease and the ways to prevent it. Dr. Rohit, Dr. Prakash Rajdeep etc. were present on this occasion. Along with this, the team of AIIMS doctors gave detailed information about AIDS disease to the students of class 9 and 11 in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Raiwala. Dr. Smita Sinha, Dr. Ashutosh Mishra etc. were present in the program.
Dr. Vartika Saxena, Head of CFM Department, Dr. Meenakshi Dhar, Dr. Mukesh Bairwa, Dr. Mahendra Singh of CFM, Dr. Yogesh Bahurupi, Dr. Pradeep Agrawal, Dr. Anupam, Dr. Vandana etc. attended the event. played an important role.
