Rishikesh : President of India, Hon’ble Ram Nath Kovind the first lady of India, Savita Kovind along with her daughter Swati visited Parmarth Niketan Ashram. In the holy presence of Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj, President of Parmarth Niketan, Rishikumars and Acharyas gave a divine welcome to everyone by applying Tilak, showering flowers and sounding conch shells. The two-day historic visit of Hon’ble President is being concluded with spiritual upliftment, traditional ceremonies and high level discussions. He addressed the global family today evening by participating in the Aarti of world famous mother Ganga of Parmarth Niketan.
While discussing with the President of Parmarth Niketan, Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj, the President had a detailed discussion on the various service works being carried out under the guidance and leadership of Swamiji. Today’s historic function began with the divine greetings of the Hon’ble President and First Lady of India Savita Kovind by Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati ji Maharaj and Dr. Sadhvi Bhagwati Saraswati ji.
Welcoming the Hon’ble President, Swamiji refreshed the memories of Kumbh Mela Prayagraj Yatra with his incredible journey of life, his commitment to the service of the nation and his wonderful leadership. This journey is a journey from oneself to oneself, a journey from diversity to unity. President of Parmarth Niketan, Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj told that in the year 1953-54, I had the privilege of felicitating the first President of India, Rajendra Prasad and Dr. Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan. In the year 2019 Prayagraj Kumbh Mela, the President Shri Ram Nath Kovind was greeted and had the good fortune of being in the Parmarth Niketan camp.
In today’s Divine event, inspired by Pujya Swamiji to protect and enhance Mother Ganga, all water bodies and our nature, environment, world renowned Grammy Award nominee, written by devotional singer Snatam Kaur along with Grammy Award nominees Deva Premal and Miten, ‘Ganga Gaan’ (Ganga anthem), a divine anthem sung by Krishna Das, CC White and other companions, performed during the Ganga Aarti. This Ganga anthem gives a message by calling upon all of us to work together to save and preserve the water of this holy river from pollution and to ensure clean and healthy flow of our river.
President Ram Nath Kovind said, Swami Chidanand Saraswati ji, International Secretary General of Global Interfaith WASH Alliance, Dr. Sadhvi Bhagwati while sharing his views said that India’s brilliant leadership of Honorable President Ramnath Kovind is truly historic. Testament to the vision, mission and commitment of a personality who in his youth had to walk 8 kms a day to go to school. Today that dedicated youth is leading India as a pioneer of justice, equality and integrity for people of every caste, religion, color and creed. His leadership – as an advocate of the Supreme Court, as the Governor of Bihar and as the President of India – is rooted in his dedication to the welfare of all – Sarva Bhoot Hite Rataah, the ultimate aim of his life and this is the motto of Parmarth Niketan. There is also mantra and mission. Pujya Swamiji gave a divine welcome to President Ramnath Kovind with a plant of holy Rudraksha and cardamom garland. After the aarti, the honorable President and First Lady Savita Kovind and her daughter lit lamps in the holy Ganga, after which the Ganga Aarti ceremony ended with the singing of the national anthem of India.
On this occasion, former Chief Minister / MP Garhwal Tirath Singh Rawat, State Protocol, Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, District Magistrate Dr. Vijay Kumar Jogdande, Senior Superintendent of Police Ms. P. Renuka Devi, Tripti Bhatt, Chief Development Officer Prashant Arya, Garhwal Mandal Multipurpose Cooperative Association Pauri President Sampat Rawat Saral and other dignitaries were present.
