Rishikesh: Let’s go to the Rishiyaksha Sangeet Festival… Yes, the city of pilgrimage is going to witness another great international event. This time Ganga Tire will resonate with the music. Entry is free. Anyone can come and enjoy the music. This time Rishikesh Music Festival is going to be held on May 14 and 15 at Purnanand Sports Ground and Parmarth located at Muni Ki Reti. It will be in two shifts, morning and evening. In the morning at Parmarth Ashram and in the evening at Purnanand Ground. Regarding this a press conference was held at Ganga Resort in Muni Ki Reti about the ceremony.
This ceremony is being organized under the 75th Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. It is being organized by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Which is jointly with Sangeet Natak Akademi, Uttarakhand Tourism and Baba Kutani Handpen. Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Culture Arjun Ram Meghwal and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will also be present in this two-day function. Rishikesh Music Festival 2022 will be organized on 14 and 15 May under the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence by the Ministry of Culture. It is being jointly organized by Sangeet Natak Akademi, Uttarakhand Tourism and Kutani Handpen.
Will be the center of attraction –
Artists of national and international repute including Kailash Kher, Baba Kutani (with Sumit Singh Kutani handpan), Rudra Veena player Bahauddin Dagar, Indian Jam Project, Surya Gayatri will be among the famous names who are coming and performing. During this, workshops will also be organized, so you can get a lot of basic information about music.
The festival will be held in two sessions and in two places –
The first session will be held from 5:30 am to 12 noon, the location will be Parmarth Niketan Ashram. (Saturday and Sunday)
The second session will be held at Purnanand Ground, at Muni Ki Reti. From 5 pm to 9 pm. (Saturday and Sunday)
Purpose of the Music Festival:
Its main objective is to promote music and tourism and showcase intangible cultural heritage while establishing Rishikesh as a global center of music. On Wednesday, a press conference was held on behalf of the organizers of the ceremony at the Ganga Resort of Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam located in Munikireti. Giving information in this, Rishikesh Music Festival’s organizing secretary Vedansh Pandey said that Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Culture Arjun Ram Meghwal and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will participate in the program. Artists of national and international repute including Kailash Kher, Rudra Veena player Bahauddin Dagar, Baba Kutani, Indian Jam Project, Surya Gayatri will participate in the festival. Admission to the event will be free and it is open to all. A “Heritage Walk” will also be held during the ceremony. It is expected that after the Rishikesh Yoga Festival, when Rishikesh Music Festival 2022 is held, this city on the banks of the Ganges will once again be successful in making an impact on the international stage.
Kutani to work on Valley of Artists-
Baba Kutani told “National Vani” that he is working on Valley of Artists. Urgam Valley which falls in Chamoli district and is near Joshimath. From there we will prepare the artists. Due to which the music will resonate in the plaintiffs, then a different artist will come in front of the world, the work of carving them will be done in this valley. Baba Kutani aka Sumit Singh Kutani is an international musician and plays the hand pen. He himself is a resident of Pandukeshwar which falls in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand and was born in Srinagar and grew up yellow there.
Today he has a great name in the country and abroad. Hand pen was invented in Switzerland in the year 2000, after that credit goes to Baba Kutani in India when it comes to promoting it. In the Sangeet Mahotsav, Baba Kutani will also organize workshops for the children so that they can get to know about this musical instrument. Hand pan is made of metal. In a way, in looks its just like UFO is made. Underneath it was an eyelet, through which its sound continues to cross with the wind. It sounds very sweet to hear. It is made from the metal that ships are made of.
During the Press Conference, Baba Kutani, Vedansh Pandey (Secretary of Festival), Manish Dimri, President Ganga Sabha, Famous Ayurvedacharya and Yoga Guru Dr. Amrit Raj, Marco Vitinico from Italy were present.
