Rishikesh: The interesting story of the Hindi feature film ‘Bhediya-Dhasan’ #भेड़िया-धसान (Sheep Barn), shot in Uttarakhand, is inspired by true events. Written by Ramendra, directed by Bharat Parihar, this film will be considered important in bringing innovation in Uttarakhandi cinema. Its selection in the “Today’s Indian Cinema” section in the prestigious ‘Kerala International Film Festival’ (13 to 20 December) is an achievement. Its 3 screenings have been scheduled in various auditoriums: on 14, 16, 19 December 2024. Many experienced theatre artists have acted in it, prominent among them are Rishikesh resident Shreesh Dobhal, Yatendra Bahuguna, Mahesh Saini (all three from NSD), Madan Mehra, Dhruv Tata (both from BNA). Cinematography is by Parth Joshi and sound-scoring is by Ravi Kumar (Pune Film Institute). The above film festival is being held in Trivandrum, the capital of Kerala, on 13-20 December 2024. The film is likely to be released first in Uttarakhand in 2025. Talking to a leading Hindi & English language news website “National Vaani”, Dobhal said, “My character’s name is ‘Bada Durga’, who is at the center of the story. He is very angry and proud. His son left home 10 years ago and went to Delhi. When the mother dies, he brings his 9-year-old son, and asks the father to leave the village and go to the city.” From here, the story takes many dramatic turns and conflicts, which have a terrible culmination. Doval appealed to the public to watch it when it is released, we request you.
