Rishikesh : 19 policemen who came on VIP duty of President Ramnath Kovind were found Corona positive. There was a stir after the arrival of President Ram Nath Kovind, 19 policemen on VIP duty were found corona positive.

However, the policemen were removed from duty even before the arrival of the President. But before this, about 400 policemen of Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Dehradun, Tehri and Pauri were tested for corona when they reached Parmarth Niketan on VIP duty on Saturday regarding their contact with other jawans and employees of the ashram and shopkeepers in Swargashram market.

The infection was confirmed in 19 of these police personnel on Sunday morning. On getting information about this, there was a stir in the police and administration. However, none of these policemen remained on VIP duty on Sunday. Kovid nodal officer of Yamkeshwar block, Dr. Rajiv Kumar said that 19 police personnel from Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Dehradun and Pauri districts are among the corona infected. The department sent the infected jawans back from duty. All the jawans will remain in home isolation for the next 14 days.

It is being told that these policemen, who came for VIP duty, came in contact with other people including other policemen, employees of the ashram and shopkeepers of Swargashram market. The Health Department is preparing a list of the people who came in contact with them. Corona test of all these will be done.
