Bhubaneswar: Now women in Odisha state will get leave on periods. Women employees of government and private sector will get one day leave in a month. This was announced on Independence Day. Deputy Chief Minister Pravathi Parida made this announcement. In Cuttack, she said on Independence Day, “Till now women did not get any leave during menstrual cycle. Now we have decided to give one day leave. Women will be able to take leave on the first or second day of periods. Leave will be optional for them. That is, optional. They will get it only if they themselves want it. The decision will be applicable to women employees of private sector along with government. In India, before Odisha, such a rule is applicable in Bihar and Kerala. There is a rule of two days leave in Bihar and three days leave in Kerala.
