Odisha Police arrested BKU Spokesperson Rakesh Tikait
Bhuvneshwar : The Odisha Police has taken Rakesh Tikait, the National Spokesperson of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), into custody.Upon receiving this news, BKU workers gathered at various police stations across the Baghpat district to stage protests.At the Chandinagar police station, BKU’s Pilana Block President Neeraj Dhaka and Khekra Block President Deepak Sharma arrived along with fellow workers and commenced a sit-in protest.BKU leader Neeraj Dhaka stated that their sit-in would continue until National Spokesperson Rakesh Tikait is released.Several workers, including Vijaypal, Devendra, Harimohan, Shivdutt Sharma, Rampal, Balbir, Yogesh, and Baburam Yadav, were present during the protest. BKU leader Gaurav Tikait, along with his supporters, has staged a sit-in at the Bhaurakalan police station. The protest is continuing late into the night.An agitation regarding various farmers’ issues has been underway in Bhubaneswar since March 22. Representatives of the Samyukt Kisan Morcha were also invited to participate in the foot march scheduled for Monday in Bhubaneswar. The BKU spokesperson arrived along with activists, but the police stopped them en route.
