Mumbai: There is some relief news for Kangana. Mumbai Police on Monday informed the Bombay High Court that it would not arrest Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut till January 25, 2022, for posting on social media allegedly linking the farmers’ movement with a separatist group.

Police made this statement after a bench of Justices Nitin Jamdar and Sarang Kotwal held that the matter pertains to the larger question of Ranaut’s fundamental right to freedom of expression and that the court would grant him some interim relief. Ranaut filed a petition in the High Court earlier this month, seeking quashing of the FIR lodged in November on the basis of a complaint by a Sikh organization at Mumbai’s Khar police station.

In the petition, filed through advocate Rizwan Siddiqui, Ranaut said that the complainant has filed an objection on his Instagram post dated November 21 but there is no legal basis for registering a case against her in the matter.
