Kolakta: SpiceJet plane shakes during landing in Bengal, 40 injured

Kolkata : A SpiceJet passenger plane shakes into the air while landing at the Kazi Nazrul Islam airport in Andal in West Bengal’s West Burdwan district on Sunday evening. Around 40 passengers suffered minor injuries when overhead cabin luggage fell on them. The flight was coming from Mumbai. SpiceJet officials confirmed that the Mumbai-Andal flight crashed at the time of landing.

Andal airport sources said the injured passengers were immediately rushed to a local hospital. Some of them were discharged after first aid, while others are still undergoing treatment. All of them are said to be out of danger.

Sources said the plane took off from Mumbai at around 5 pm and was to land at Kazi Nazrul Islam airport in Andal around 7.30 pm. However, prior to landing, the aircraft encountered turbulence in mid-air. Though the pilot of the plane handled the situation and somehow landed at the airport, several passengers were injured.
