Jalandhar: Kerala nun’s death stirred, family raised questions, church said suicide

Jalandhar : There has been a stir in a church in Jalandhar district of Punjab after the death of a nun in a suspicious condition. Kerala A nun has died in a convent located in Jalandhar, Punjab. Church officials have informed that the nun has committed suicide. Whereas, the relatives of the nun have made allegations and raised the demand for investigation. At present, the police is investigating the case. Officials have said that the church is fully cooperating in every kind of investigation. The matter of writing a letter on behalf of the nun has also come to the fore.
According to police sources, the 31-year-old nun has been identified as Mary Mercy, a resident of Arthungal. His father’s name is John Osaf. Church officials informed the family that the nun had committed suicide. Whereas, the family has opposed this. Mary Mercy’s father has filed a complaint with the Alappuzha collector. In this, he has said that his daughter did not have any such problem, due to which she would be forced to take such a big step. Mary Mercy was working in Jalandhar for the last four years. In the complaint, the nun’s father has said that she was happy during the conversation with the family on November 29 and December 2 was her birthday, for which she was very excited. The family has raised the demand for re-post mortem of the dead body, so that the real cause of death can be ascertained. The nun’s body will be brought to her home on December 2.
Church officials had informed through a press conference that they would take further action only after informing the family and the police. Apart from this, a letter has surfaced. It is believed that the nun has written this letter, in which she has apologized to her family and group.
