Indian women’s cricket team captain Mithali Raj has said goodbye to international cricket. She announced her retirement (Did Mithali Raj Retired) on Twitter. With this, the charismatic journey of 23 years on a 22-yard pitch came to an end. Mithali Raj retired from T20 International in 2019. She scored a total of 2,364 runs in 89 T20 Internationals, the most by any Indian in this format.

Mithali, who started playing for India in 1999 at the age of 16, is one of the all-time greats of the game. She represented India in 12 Tests, 232 ODIs and 89 T20Is and was also the captain, leading Team India to two World Cup finals. She is the highest run scorer in the world in ODIs. She finished her career with 7805 runs with seven centuries and 64 fifties.Mithali scored a record 7805 runs in 232 ODIs in her international career. She also represented India in 12 Tests and 89 T20 Internationals. The 39-year-old batsman has already retired from the T20 format and was expected to retire after India’s campaign in the One Day International World Cup ended in March.

Announcing her retirement, Mithali wrote on social media, ‘I went on a journey to wear the blue jersey of India because it is the greatest honor to represent my country. I saw many top moments in my journey and also faced some tough times. Every moment taught me something new and the last 23 years have been the most satisfying, challenging and enjoyable years of my life.
