The Chief Minister said that 18 people, including Garg, had gone for a boat trip and swimming, and the singer was later found floating in the sea. He stated that the High Commissioner has sent him a list of those who were with Garg. This includes 11 members of the Assamese community living in Singapore, including Abhimanyu Talukdar, who had booked the boat. Additionally, they include four members of the singer’s team and two crew members. The Chief Minister stated that Garg was found floating in the sea, after which lifeguards immediately administered CPR and he was taken to Singapore General Hospital, where he was declared dead. He added that Singapore authorities are questioning those who were with the singer.

Sarma said that the High Commissioner has also informed that the post-mortem will be conducted today, and we are hoping that Garg’s body will be brought back to his homeland by this evening. Since all the members accompanying Garg are Indian citizens, we will also contact the Union Home Ministry so that our officials can interrogate them, and the people of the state have the right to know what really happened in the last moments of their cultural icon. The Chief Minister stated that the singer’s body will be kept at the Sarusajai Stadium so that people can pay their respects, and all other arrangements will be made once his body is brought back. People are shocked after hearing the news of Zubeen Garg demise. He has many songs in record which he sung.
