Goa : PM Modi inaugurates projects worth Rs 650 crore in Goa
Panaji : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday dedicated five infrastructure projects worth around Rs 650 crore in service to the nation, including Aguada Prison Museum, a super specialty block at Goa Medical College Hospital, an aviation skill development center at Mopa airport and Dabolim-Navelim, Margao consists of a gas insulated substation.
The Prime Minister is in Goa on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the state’s liberation from Portuguese rule on December 19, 1961. The Aguada Fort Jail Museum has been redeveloped at a cost of over Rs 28 crore as a heritage tourist destination under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme. Before the liberation of Goa, the fort was used to imprison and torture freedom fighters. The museum will highlight the contributions and sacrifices made by prominent freedom fighters who fought for the liberation of Goa and will be a fitting tribute to them.
Modi also inaugurated a super specialty block at the state’s top medical facility, Goa Medical College and Hospital, which has been constructed at a cost of over Rs. 380 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana scheme. Other projects that were inaugurated by the Prime Minister include New South Goa District Hospital built at a cost of about Rs 220 crore, Aviation Skill Development Center at the upcoming Mopa airport built at a cost of about Rs 8.5 crore, a gas.
Under the Integrated Power Development Scheme of the Ministry of Power, Government of India, an insulated substation has been constructed at Davourlim-Navelim, Margao at a cost of about Rs.16 crore.
