Delhi: Working committee meeting of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind concluded, it is unfortunate that the administration discriminates on the basis of religion among the protesters: Maulana Arshad Madani
Now it seems that there is no need for courts in the country, the consequences of tampering with the law related to religious places can be dire: Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind
Sufiyan Alvi Reports:
New Delhi / Deoband : An important meeting of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind Working Committee was held under the chairmanship of President Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind Maulana Arshad Madani at Madani Hall, 1 Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Head Office, Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind. The participants of the meeting took serious note of the current situation in the country and expressed their strong condemnation on the increasing communalism, extremism, pathetic state of peace and open discrimination against the Muslim minority in the country. It was said in the meeting that this is not a good sign for the peace, unity and solidarity of the country, playing with the constitution by the rulers can tarnish the democratic structure of the country. On this occasion, out of the resolutions which were unanimously passed in the meeting, it was said in two important resolutions that suspension of those who have insulted the glory of the Prophet is not enough, but they should be immediately arrested and given such severe punishment according to the law, Which is a lesson for others.
The second important resolution states that any attempt to amend the 1991 law relating to religious places could have very disastrous consequences. It has been said in the resolution that instead of amendment or alteration, this law should be strictly enforced, section 4 of which clearly states that “It is hereby declared that the religious status of all religious places existing on 15 August 1947” shall remain as it was at that time.” Section 4(2) provides that if any suit, appeal or proceeding relating to the change of religious status of any place of religion existing on 15th August 1947, any court, tribunal or is already pending in the court, it shall stand quashed and no suit, appeal or other proceeding in such case shall lie before any court, tribunal or court hereafter, that is why the petition filed in the Supreme Court against this law is Jamiat. Ulama-e-Hind has become an interventionist in that.
Addressing the working committee, Maulana Arshad Madani said that this important meeting of the working committee is being held at a time when unrest, anarchy and communalism are at its peak in the whole country, the minorities of the country especially Muslims are being taken away from their constitutional and democratic rights. Even peaceful demonstrations by them are being interpreted as treason and under the guise of law, mountains of oppression are being broken against them.
Maulana Madani said that our Prophet was deliberately insulted and when Muslims demonstrated demanding the arrest of those who worshiped, bullets and sticks were thrown at them, even as a result of this, many people’s homes were bulldozed. There have been large-numbers of arresting and cases have been lodged against them under serious sections, that is, the work which was of the courts is now being done by the governments. It seems that the time for rule of law is over in India, the governments have taken all the rights of punishment and revenge, the words that come out of their mouth are the law. It seems no need of courts in the country. He said that demonstration is the democratic right of every Indian citizen but the present rulers have two parameters to see the demonstration, if Muslim minority protest then unforgivable crime, but if majority people protest and take violent actions by taking to streets and entire railway If trains and stations are set on fire, there is not even a mild lathi charge to disperse them, protesting the administration and discrimination on the basis of religion among the protesters is sad.
He said that the violent demonstration against contract jobs in the army is proof of this, the protesters set fire to trains, damaged government property, pelted stones on the police, then the same police who broke all limits against Muslims. Lets remain a mute spectator, such light sections have been imposed against those who have been arrested for this violent demonstration that they can be bailed from the police station itself, a big officer of Uttar Pradesh Police says on these incidents that These are our children and they need to be explained. Maulana Madani asked whether those who had peacefully protested against those who insulted their Prophet were the children of the enemy. He said that now there is no doubt that those who raised the slogans of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” and “Sab Ka Saath Sab Ka Vikas” have also given religious color to the law, for the majority the law is different. and is different for the minority. The question is that now if it is a crime to protest peacefully in the country, then why have the houses of those who protested violently not been demolished yet? Maulana Madani further said that in the letter written by the BJP office for the suspension of the abusive leaders, it was also written that the party abides by the constitution of the country and has a sense of respect for all religions, if If so, why are the leaders who insulted us still free?
