Delhi : IAF’s strength will increase, as indigenous light combat helicopter will be included in the army today. The Indian Air Force (IAF) will formally induct the indigenously developed Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) into its fleet on Monday. This will further increase the strength of the Air Force as this multifunctional helicopter is capable of firing multiple missiles and using weapons.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will include LCH in an Air Force program located in Jodhpur On Sunday, an official said that this helicopter will be inducted in the presence of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Air Chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhary in the program organized at the Air Force base in Jodhpur. The official also said that the 5.8-tonne and twin-engine helicopter has already been tested for the use of several weapons. The LCH bears a resemblance to the ‘Advance Light Helicopter’ Dhruv.

Tosay the strength of the Indian Air Force (IAF) is going to increase. On Monday, the Indian Air Force will officially induct the country’s developed Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) into its fleet. The LCH has been developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), a public sector undertaking and is primarily designed to be deployed in high altitude areas. With the induction of this helicopter, the strength of the Air Force will increase further. It is being told that this helicopter is capable of firing many missiles and using weapons.

The official further said that the helicopter has ‘stealth’ (radar evasion) feature, armored protection system, night strike and emergency landing capability. In March this year, in the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approval was given to purchase 15 indigenously developed LCHs for Rs 3887 crore.
