New Delhi :Its not good sign.  213 cases of ‘Omicron’, a new form of corona virus, have been reported in India, out of which 90 people have become infection free or have migrated to other places. These cases were reported in 15 states and union territories.

The Union Health Ministry said on Monday that Delhi has the highest number of 57 cases of ‘Omicron’ nature, 54 in Maharashtra, 24 in Telangana, 19 in Karnataka, 18 in Rajasthan, 15 in Kerala and 14 in Gujarat. According to the updated data released by the ministry at 8 am, after 6,317 new cases of Kovid-19 were reported in India in a day, the number of infected in the country increased to 3,47,58,481. At the same time, the number of patients under treatment has come down to 78,190, which is the lowest in 575 days. After the death of 318 more infected, the death toll increased to 4,78,325.

According to the data, the daily cases of Covid-19 in the country are less than 15 thousand for 55 consecutive days. The number of patients under treatment has come down to 78,190, which is 0.22 percent of the total cases of infection. This rate is the lowest since March 2020. A decrease of 907 has been registered in the number of patients under treatment for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. The national recovery rate of patients is 98.40 percent, which is the highest since March 2020.

According to ministry data, the daily infection rate was recorded at 0.51 percent, which is less than two percent for the last 79 days. The weekly infection rate was recorded at 0.58 percent, which is less than one percent for the last 38 days. So far, a total of 3,42,01,966 people have become infection free in the country and the death rate from Covid-19 is 1.38 percent. So far, more than 138.96 crore doses of anti-COVID-19 vaccines have been administered under the nationwide vaccination campaign.

The number of infected in the country had crossed 20 lakh on August 7 last year, 30 lakh on August 23 and more than 40 lakh on September 5. At the same time, the total cases of infection had crossed 50 lakh on 16 September, 60 lakh on 28 September, 70 lakh on 11 October, 80 lakh on 29 October and 90 lakh on 20 November. In the country, these cases crossed one crore on December 19, crossed two crore on May 4 this year and crossed three crore on June 23.

According to the data of the ministry, out of 318 people who died due to infection in the country in the last 24 hours, 233 people were from Kerala, 30 people from Goa and 14 people from Maharashtra.

The Kerala government said in a government release on Tuesday that out of 233 cases of death reported in the state, 33 cases were reported in the last few days. At the same time, 200 cases of death have been added to the cases of death from Kovid-19 based on the new guidelines of the Center and the Supreme Court.R).
