Delhi: PM Modi pays tribute to CDS Bipin Rawat and other army personnel, met to family members

New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Palam airport and paid floral tributes to the mortal remains of all the army personnel including CDS General Bipin Rawat and his wife and offered condolences to the family members late in the evening of Thursday. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, the chiefs of the three forces, besides many other senior army officers also reached Palam airport and paid tribute. During this family members were also present. During this everyone’s eyes remained moist.

Earlier, an Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft carrying the mortal remains of CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat and 11 others reached Palam airbase. Rawat died in a helicopter crash in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. In this accident 12 more people including his wife lost their lives. One officer has survived alive in this helicopter. His treatment is going on in a hospital in Bangalore. Every eye of the whole country is moist. People are saluting their hero with moist eyes. Slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai are being raised.

The mortal remains of General Bipin Rawat will be kept for his last visit on Friday, December 10 at his residence 3 Kamaraj Marg. Dignitaries and ordinary citizens will have their last darshan from 11 am to 12:30 am. Army personnel will pay their last respects to General Bipin Rawat from 12:30 pm to 13:30 pm. After this the body will be taken to Delhi Cantt Brar Square for the last rites. Giving information about the accident in the Lok Sabha, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh paid tribute to the CDS and all those killed in the accident. The Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also paid tribute to all those who lost their lives in the accident. Rahul Gandhi, Lok Sabha MP from Wayanad, Kerala, will pay tribute to CDS General Bipin Rawat and his wife at Kamaraj Road at 9:30 am on Friday.

At the same time, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge said that the helicopter accident happened.
