Delhi: An important cabinet meeting took place amid the special session of Parliament. The Women’s Reservation Bill was approved in the meeting. After the bill gets the green signal from the Union Cabinet, it will now be presented in the special session of Parliament. Union Minister Prahlad Singh Patel tweeted that only the Modi government had the moral courage to meet the demand for women’s reservation. This has been proved with the approval of the cabinet. Congratulations to PM Modi and his government.

However, Minister Prahlad Patel later deleted his tweet. It is believed that a special session of Parliament is going on, hence the government will first inform about this decision inside the House. This could be the reason behind deleting the minister’s tweet on women’s reservation. Earlier, the Union Cabinet meeting started at 6.30 pm on Monday evening. The meeting took place in the Parliament Annexe Building. During this, the Women’s Reservation Bill was discussed in detail under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Union ministers including Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Piyush Goyal, Pralhad Joshi, S Jaishankar, Nirmala Sitharaman, Dharmendra Pradhan, Nitin Gadkari and Arjun Ram Meghwal attended the meeting. In fact, ever since the announcement of the Parliament session being held from 18-22 September, there was speculation that the government may bring the Women’s Reservation Bill or other important bills in this session.

Earlier, PM Modi had indicated this during his speech in Parliament. In her speech at the CWC meeting, Sonia Gandhi had also demanded the Modi government to bring a women’s reservation bill. Telangana Chief Minister KCR has also advocated this. In the all-party meeting held yesterday, many parties from the opposition and the ruling party had also supported it.
