Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached Dehradun on Saturday after a three-day visit to Lucknow. On the arrival of the Chief Minister, from the Police Line to the Chief Minister’s residence, the party workers and the general public gave a grand welcome. During this, Chief Minister Dhami said this meeting as historic between Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand regarding the asset dispute going on for 21 years. The Chief Minister said that this visit was historic for the interests of Uttarakhand. Expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, he said that since last 21 years talks were going on with Uttar Pradesh regarding sharing of assets but the solution was not being reached. But with strong will power, in the Chief Minister level meeting, a point-by-point agreement was reached regarding the distribution of assets one by one. The Chief Minister gave detailed information about the benefits to Uttarakhand and the region due to the distribution of assets.

It is noteworthy that in the important meeting held on Thursday, it was decided to transfer the land of Bus Stand of Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department in Kichha to Uttarakhand within 15 days. Apart from this, it has also been decided to give the payment of the remaining bills of 90 crores of forest department to Uttarakhand by the Uttar Pradesh government immediately. Permission was given for tourism and water sports in Dhaura, Baigul, Nanak Sagar reservoir located in Udham Singh Nagar district. Water sports were also allowed in the Upper Ganges Canal. The Alaknanda Tourist Accommodation House at Haridwar will be inaugurated in December 2021 and the former Tourist Accommodation House will be transferred to Uttarakhand at that time. It was decided in the meeting that identification of 5700 hectares of Irrigation Department land and 1700 houses would be done soon after conducting a joint survey to assess the land and building required for the use of Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department. It was agreed between the two states that various cases pending in the courts would be withdrawn and the cases would be resolved by mutual consent. Two barrages, Banbasa barrage on Indo-Nepal border and Kichha barrage which are in dilapidated condition due to damage due to disaster, these barrages will be constructed by Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department. Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation agreed to pay Rs 205 crore to Uttarakhand Transport Corporation. The income and liabilities arising from the disposal of the assets of Uttar Pradesh Housing and Development Council located in Uttarakhand will be divided in the ratio of 50-50 percent between the two states.
