Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reviewed in view of the increasing cases of Covid and the possible threat of new variant Omicron of Covid. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has given instructions to increase the Covid sampling and ensure contact tracing. In view of the increasing cases of Covid and the possible threat of new variant Omicron of Covid, the Chief Minister reviewed in detail with senior officials of the government and district magistrates at the CM residence.
‘Har Ghar Dastak’ campaign should be run with full capacity
The Chief Minister said that the first dose of Covid vaccine has been 100 percent in the state, but the second dose needs to be worked with more urgency. The ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ campaign should be run with full capacity. It should be ensured that the second dose of the Covid vaccine is administered in a given time. People should be motivated for Covid appropriate behavior.
Chief Minister directed that RTPCR test should be done compulsorily for all those who have symptoms of viral. He said that there is no need for panic, but full care and proper preparations have to be ensured. Once again people should be motivated for Covid Appropriate Behavior. For this, public awareness campaigns should be run. Masks and social distancing should be followed. For this, police personnel should be deployed in overcrowded places.
Don’t be careless-
The Chief Minister directed all the District Magistrates to fulfill the testing target. He said that there should be no negligence in this. The protocol of the advisory issued by the Government of India regarding international passengers should be followed literally.
There should be random tests at the places of danger and the borders of the state.
The Chief Minister said that RTPCR test should be conducted for the corona warriors like policemen, health workers etc. For this, RTPCR test should be done even in normal people who show symptoms of viral. Random tests should be conducted at crowded places and state borders. If the RTPCR test is positive, they should be sent for genome sequencing.
Ensure contact tracing-
Laying a lot of emphasis on contact tracing, the Chief Minister directed to ensure RTPCR testing of all the people who came in contact with Covid positive and to create micro-containment zones. Nothing should be done about it. The health infrastructure related to Covid such as ICU, oxygen, ventilator etc., developed during the first and second wave of Covid, should be checked. Control rooms should be reactivated in the districts. If necessary, training of manpower related to Covid management should be done. Both the Divisional Commissioners and all the District Magistrates should closely watch the status of Covid and the status of Covid management in their areas, it will be reviewed again at the Chief Minister level after a week.
Secretary Health Dr. Pankaj Pandey gave detailed information about the current status of Covid and vaccination in the state and preparedness for any possible situation. He said that earlier there was not a single lab in the state to test the corona virus, at present there are 11 government and 26 private labs. At present the isolation beds are more than 31 thousand while the number of ICU has increased to 1655. Considering the possibility of third wave, 53 percent increase has been made in ICU under health system. There were 116 ventilators in March 2020, which has now increased to 1016. Oxygen cylinder is 22420. Oxygen Concentrator has increased from 275 in March 2020 to 9838 at present. Similarly, there has been an increase of 91 percent in the case of PSA Oxygen Generation Plant. The COVID testing rate in Uttarakhand has been higher than the national average. Adequate medical and para medical staff have been appointed during the period of Covid.
Uttarakhand is the leading state in the COVID vaccination campaign. 100% first dose has been administered. More than 65 percent of the second dose has been given. Instructions have been given to the District Magistrates to expedite this. 331 mobile teams have been formed for vaccination. All preparations have been made regarding the possible third wave of Covid. Oxygen cylinders and concentrators have been arranged at all PHCs, CHCs and major health and wellness centers. 2097 oxygen beds, 475 NICUs, 465 PICUs have been made functional for children. A State Task Force has been constituted for preparedness and arrangements for intensive monitoring and control on the possible third wave. It has been decided to conduct G-Nom sequencing of each COVID positive in the lab of Doon Medical College.
In the meeting, Medical Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu, Additional Chief Secretary Anandbardhan, Additional Principal Secretary Abhinav Kumar, Secretary Amit Negi, S A Murugeshan, In-charge Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman, Additional Secretary C Ravi Shankar, Information Director General Dr. Ranveer Singh Chauhan, along with senior officers of the government and department, while both the Divisional Commissioners, all the District Magistrates and Chief Medical Officers were present through video conferencing.
