Dehradun: After the decision of the Apex Court, Govt. should soon implement equal pay for AYUSH doctors in Uttarakhand: Dr. D.C. Pasbola
Dehradun : The new government of Uttarakhand in AYUSH state has suffered a major setback due to discriminatory policy and poor attitude towards AYUSH doctors. While the Supreme Court has quashed an SLP filed by the state government, it has also ordered that AYUSH doctors should be paid the same salary as allopathic doctors. There can be no discrimination of any kind by the state government. This decision of the Supreme Court will benefit about 300 AYUSH doctors appointed in the National Child Health Program (RBSK).
State media in-charge of the State Ayurvedic and Unani Medical Services Association, Uttarakhand, Dr. D.C. Pasbola, said that this decision of the Supreme Court is not only historic but will also serve as an example to all the AYUSH doctors of the country. This decision of the Supreme Court will prove to be a milestone not only for Uttarakhand but for the AYUSH doctors of the entire country.
Giving information further, Dr. Pasbola said that in the year 2018, the Nainital High Court had passed orders for AYUSH doctors to pay the same salary as allopathic doctors. But the state government challenged this decision in the Supreme Court. Now the Supreme Court has dismissed the SLP of the state government as well as upheld the decision of the Nainital High Court to pay the same salary to AYUSH doctors as allopathic doctors.
*Dr. Pasbola* has strongly demanded from the state government to implement the decision of the Supreme Court soon. So that AYUSH doctors can get the benefit of equal pay for equal work like allopathic doctors without any delay. Because any discrimination between doctors on the basis of pathology is a clear violation of Article 14 of the Constitution. Therefore, respecting the constitution established by law, the government should give equal pay to AYUSH doctors on the basis of equal work like allopathic doctors.
Association’s Provincial President Dr. K.S. Napalchyal, General Secretary Dr. Hardev Singh Rawat, Provincial Vice-President Dr. Ajay Chamola have also welcomed the decision of the Supreme Court and appreciated this decision and also described this decision as unprecedented. At the same time, it is hoped that the newly elected government will soon take action on the issue of DACP of AYUSH doctors passed in the cabinet by the previous government before the election so that AYUSH doctors can get the benefit of DACP at the same time as allopathic doctors.
