Moscow/New Delhi : Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today met Russian President Vladimir Putin during the military and military cooperation session of the 21st India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission (IRIGC-M&MTC) in Moscow. This will further deepen these relations. Singh said, the friendship between our countries is higher than the highest mountain and deeper than the deepest sea. He also said that India has always stood with its Russian friends and will continue to do so in the future. The Defence Minister said that there are many types of pressures on India, both publicly and privately. But India has decided that it will not only maintain its close ties with Russia, but will also deepen these relations. We will always stand with Russian colleagues. He also said that cooperation between the two countries is increasing on multilateral forums like G20, BRICS and SCO. Rajnath Singh said, our relations are moving forward at full speed.
Earlier, Rajnath Singh also met his Russian counterpart Andrei Belousov. The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that Russia and India have a strong and old friendship based on mutual respect. There was a discussion between the leaders of the two countries on strengthening reliable bilateral relations. The ministry said, as a result of the meeting of President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Moscow in July and the meetings held during the BRICS summit held in Kazan in October, the special strategic partnership has deepened further, including in the defense sector. The statement also quoted Belousov as saying, “We are committed to implementing all the agreements that have been made at the highest level. According to the statement, the Russian Defence Minister said that military cooperation between Russia and India is taking place in multilateral formats, especially under the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) and ADMM Plus. Belousov expressed confidence that their meeting will further strengthen the defence and security relations between the two countries.
