CP Radhakrishnan will be the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate for the post of Vice President of India


New Delhi : CP Radhakrishnan has been declared the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate for the post of Vice President. This decision was taken in the meeting of the BJP Parliamentary Board in which the party’s choice for the Vice Presidential election was finalized. CP Radhakrishnan was born in Tamil Nadu. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday declared Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan as the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate for the post of Vice President.
This decision was taken in the meeting of the BJP Parliamentary Board, which was convened to finalize the party’s choice for the Vice Presidential election. Chandrapuram Ponnuswamy Radhakrishnan is currently the Governor of Maharashtra. He took oath as the Governor of Maharashtra on 31 July 2024. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Governor of Jharkhand for about one and a half years. As the Governor of Jharkhand, Radhakrishnan was appointed by the President of India to take over as the Governor of Telangana and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. Has a long association with RSS With over four decades of experience, Radhakrishnan is a respected name in Tamil Nadu politics and public life. Chandrapuram Ponnuswami Radhakrishnan was born on 20 October 1957 in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu. Radhakrishnan graduated in Business Administration. Starting as a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh volunteer, he became a member of the state executive of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh in 1974.
In 1996, Radhakrishnan was appointed Secretary of Tamil Nadu BJP. In 1998, he was elected to the Lok Sabha for the first time from Coimbatore. In 1999, he was re-elected to the Lok Sabha. On February 18, 2023, Radhakrishnan was appointed Governor of Jharkhand. In his first four months of tenure, he visited all 24 districts of Jharkhand and interacted with citizens and district officials.
