CM Dhami Inaugurates Centralized Studio for Virtual and Smart Classes Operating in Hybrid Mode in 840 Government Schools

Dehradun : Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, while participating in a program organized at Rajiv Gandhi Navodaya Vidyalaya, Nanurkheda (Dehradun) on Saturday, inaugurated a centralized studio for virtual and smart classes operating in hybrid mode in 840 government schools under the ICT in School Education Scheme by Samagra Shiksha Uttarakhand. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also interacted with students virtually.

The Chief Minister said that we are all witnessing this historic initiative to strengthen the education system in the state, which will ensure a brighter future for the children of the state. He said that in the modern era, education is not limited to books; instead, digital technology, virtual platforms, and smart classrooms are opening up a host of possibilities. These innovations are making the curriculum more interesting and accessible, and students in remote areas are also able to directly interact with experts and teachers.

The Chief Minister informed that 226 schools in the state have been established as PM Shri Vidyalayas, and virtual classes are being conducted in 500 schools. He said that students can now access modern and quality education from home through the Uttarakhand Virtual Learning Application. Through this application, students will also be able to self-evaluate themselves. This app will provide students with the opportunity to learn from renowned teachers from across the country and the state. He informed that the state government is also operating the 5-PM e-Vidya Channel to provide online education to students in remote areas.

The Chief Minister said that meritorious students from classes 6 to 12 in the state are being benefited under the Chief Minister’s Meritorious Student Incentive Scholarship Scheme. Meritorious students of grades 10 and 12 from each development block in the state are being sent on a tour of India. Vocational education in eight trades has been introduced in the state’s secondary schools, benefiting over 42,000 students. For the first time in the state, job fairs were organized for 12th-grade vocational students, through which 146 students were selected in prestigious companies. This initiative has also been praised by the Union Ministry of Education.

The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand is the first state in the country to develop a state curriculum framework for basic education. “Baseless Day” has been incorporated in schools. The government has prepared books in Garhwali, Kumaoni, and Jaunsari languages ​​to preserve local language and culture. Dictionaries are also being developed in Tharu, Boksa, and Rawalti languages. He said that through the book “Hamari Virasat,” students in grades 6 to 8 are being made aware of India’s culture, folk traditions, and great personalities.

The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the National Education Policy 2020 has been implemented in the country. Under the ICT scheme, students are being connected to modern education through digital learning resources and virtual classrooms. The Chief Minister said that under the Prime Minister’s guidance, Uttarakhand was the first state in the country to implement the National Education Policy. Under this, “Bal Vatika” was launched in 2022. For quality education, NCERT textbooks have been made mandatory in all government schools, and free books are being provided to students from grades 1 to 12 in government and aided schools.

On this occasion, Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, MLA Umesh Sharma “Kau”, Additional Secretary of Education Ranjana Rajguru, Director General of Education Deepti Singh, other officials of the Education Department, students from schools across the state, and others were present virtually.
