Rishikesh: (Manoj Rautela) “Avaada Foundation” has now geared up to improve the quality of education in the remote and mountainous border areas/villages of Uttarakhand. While addressing a press conference at a hotel on Haridwar Road on Saturday, the Foundation’s Director Ritu Patwari informed that… Taking an important step towards improving the quality of education in the remote and mountainous border areas of Uttarakhand, Avaada Foundation and Planet School are doing a commendable job of providing quality education to children through digital medium in Saraswati Shishu / Vidya Mandirs, training teachers and equipping schools with modern resources. Under this project, virtual classes are being conducted in 42 schools.
Through these classes, students are getting digital education of NCERT curriculum based subjects. Subjects like Mathematics, Science, English, Hindi and Environmental Science are taught in interesting ways in these classes through online medium. The benefit of this is that children from remote villages are also getting good quality education by connecting with excellent teachers. Apart from this, Patwari informed that now in Uttarakhand, school upgradation, digital content distribution and special training programs for teachers are being run in 466 schools. Under school upgradation, schools have been equipped with digital resources like smart LED panel computers, webcams, printer speakers. Due to which children are getting audio video based knowledge along with practical experience. Animated video presentation activity based teaching material and quizzes are being made available to the students through digital education content. This material is for classes from nursery to class 12. Due to which children of different age groups are getting education according to their understanding and level. Teacher training program is an important part of this scheme. Under this, teachers are being trained on digital tools, online teaching methods, use of technology in education and initiatives related to assessment of students. This test is connecting them to the modern digital education system. This project is going on in the schools of those Parvati and remote districts of Uttarakhand. Where education resources are limited. In these hilly and border areas, this first initiative of Avaada Foundation and Planet School has emerged as a ray of hope in the field of education. Thousands of students, hundreds of teachers and community members have benefited from this program so far. Children have a great interest in studies. Technology has developed and teachers have found innovation in their teaching.
The responses of parents have also been extremely positive. This joint program of Avaada Foundation and Planet School is not only improving the quality of education. But it is an effective effort towards making Uttarakhand a leading state in digital education in the coming times. Avaada Foundation has done remarkable work in the rural areas of Rishikesh and Dehradun in Uttarakhand even during the difficult times of the Covid pandemic. Sacks of ration were delivered to thousands of needy families. Along with this, oxygen concentrators and 25 BiPAP machines were also made available. So that lives could be saved.
The Foundation organized inspirational motivational speeches and sessions in 10 schools of Uttarakhand. Apart from this, cyber security workshops were organized in a total of five schools of Uttarakhand including five schools of Rishikesh with the aim of spreading awareness of cyber security. A 10-day sports training camp was organized by Avaada Foundation in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. In which local youth were given training in various disciplines of sports. On this occasion, players and their coaches who performed excellently were also honored. Also, sports material, shoes etc. were distributed to the players so that they can improve their game further.
