Gujarat : Heroin worth Rs 400 crore seized from Pakistani boat Al Hussaini off Gujarat coast, 6 arrested

Ahmedabad: A Pakistani fishing boat carrying 77 kg of heroin has been caught in Indian waters off the Gujarat coast. Six members of his crew have been arrested. The name of the Pakistani boat is Al Hussaini and the value of the confiscated substance is said to be 400 crores.

The tweet said that they seized 77 kg of heroin worth around Rs 400 crore. He said the boat was brought to Jakhu beach in Gujarat’s Kutch district for further investigation.

Officials said on Monday that the value of the seized narcotics is around Rs 400 crore. The drug was seized on Sunday night during a joint operation by the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and the Indian Coast Guard, he said. The Defense Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Gujarat tweeted that in a joint operation with the state ATS, Coast Guard intercepted Pakistani fishing boat ‘Al Hussaini’ in Indian waters and arrested six crew members of the boat.

“ATS and Coast Guard have jointly conducted a major operation in which 77 kg of heroin has been seized. 6 crew members have been caught on Pakistani boat Al Hussaini, they are residents of Karachi. Action will be taken by registering a case against them: Ashish Bhatia, Gujarat DGP”
