New Delhi : Senior Indian Diplomat Pradeep Kumar Rawat appointed Ambassador of India to China, currently serving as the Indian envoy to the Netherlands. Pradeep Kumar Rawat will replace Vikram Misri. He has previously worked in Hong Kong and Beijing. Rawat has served as Ambassador to Indonesia and Timor-Leste from September 2017 to December 2020.
Senior diplomat Pradeep Kumar Rawat was on Monday appointed as the new Ambassador of India to China. The Foreign Ministry said in a statement that he is likely to assume the new responsibility soon. His appointment is being considered important amidst the tension on the border between India and China in eastern Ladakh. Rawat, a 1990 batch Indian Foreign Service officer (IFS) , is currently serving as the Indian envoy to the Netherlands. Rawat will replace Vikram Misri. He has previously worked in Hong Kong and Beijing. Rawat has served as Ambassador to Indonesia and Timor-Leste from September 2017 to December 2020. He had earlier served in Hong Kong and Beijing and speaks fluent Mandarin.
