Delhi: Home Ministry seeks report from Bengal government on mysterious death of BJP worker

New Delhi : Taking suo motu cognizance of the matter, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has sought a report from the West Bengal government on the mysterious death of a BJP youth wing worker whose body was found in a deserted room near a railway line on Kosipur Road. I was found hanging. The ministry has asked the state government to submit a report on the death of a Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) worker, identified as Arjun Chaurasia (26).

Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the house of the deceased on Friday and the Home Ministry took the step after demanding a CBI inquiry into the matter.The Bengal unit of the BJP has alleged that the ruling Trinamool Congress workers killed and hanged a BJYM worker.

The incident also led to cancellation of all appointments of Shah, who is on a two-day visit to West Bengal from Thursday.After meeting Chaurasia’s family members, Shah said, The Home Ministry is taking Chaurasia’s death seriously and has sought a report in this regard.

Demanding a CBI inquiry into Chaurasia’s death, Shah further said that the culture of violence and fear psychosis prevails in Bengal and wherever I go in the state, I get reports of political violence, attacks of revenge.
