Delhi : Action will be taken against YouTube channels running anti-India content : Anurag Thakur

New Delhi :Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said in a conversation with the media, “Any website, there are web portals, there are accounts on YouTube which conspire against India, try to divide India, now, action will be taken against them.

The Government of India is leaving no stone unturned to take action against the country’s opponents not only at the ground level but also at the digital level. Now Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur in a conversation with the media reiterated the need to take strict action against those running anti-India content. Along with this, he has also given a stern warning to the media web portals that mislead the general public.

Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said in a conversation with the media, “Any website, there are web portals, there are accounts on YouTube that conspire against India, try to divide India, people of India.” We have asked to take action against those who work to spread rumours by misleading them. We have also given names of 20 such accounts which come from neighboring country or go from there.”

Anurag Thakur further said, “I am happy that countries all over the world have taken action against it. YouTube itself has come forward and taken action. In future also there will be any such account which is conspiring against India, Must be spreading lies, working to divide the society. Work will be done to close such accounts.” Last year, YouTube also blocked several Pakistani-run channels following a complaint from the Indian government.
