Dehradun : Ritu Khanduri became the first Speaker of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly

Dehradun : The command of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly came in the hands of the first woman Speaker. Due to the only nomination for the post of President, Ritu Khanduri has been elected. For this, a special meeting of the Legislative Assembly will be held on Saturday. The deadline for nominations for the Speaker’s post ended at 12 noon on Friday. According to Secretary Assembly Mukesh Singhal, only BJP MLA Ritu Khanduri has been nominated for this post.

For this, a meeting of the Legislative Assembly wass held on Saturday and a formal announcement of the election of the season was made. After this, the proceedings of the House will be carried out under her supervision. Meanwhile, expressing her priority as Speaker of the Assembly, Ritu said that she would try to bring the Vidhan Sabha on a more digital format. Along with this, a separate room will be prepared for women MLAs in the assembly.

She said that women MLAs are not able to get a place to sit during the meal break or adjournment. While there are problems in commuting to the MLA Hostel during the session. Therefore, a separate room will be prepared in the Vidhan Bhavan. Along with this, the assembly complex will be made more friendly for women.
