Dehradun : The approval of six private universities has been canceled in Uttarakhand. The approval of the proposed six private universities was canceled for not starting the construction work on time and not giving satisfactory answers.

The approval of six private universities proposed in Uttarakhand has been canceled for not starting the construction work on time and not giving satisfactory answers. The High Level Committee (HPC) headed by the Chief Secretary took this decision due to non-starting of work at the ground level despite giving concessions for extension of time several times.

This committee, constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, has also given consent to the proposals of some private universities proposed in the state. Minutes of the meeting have been issued. According to this, the proposal of the proposed Roorkee University in Roorkee will soon be brought to the cabinet meeting for approval. With this, consent has been given to the proposal of the Ayushman Education and Social Society in Doiwala for the construction of the proposed Ramakrishna Charitable Foundation University at Doiwala.

Proposals were cancelled of these-

The proposals of Adinath Welfare Society’s Seeds Private University, Ritnand Velvet Education Foundation’s Amity University, Supertech Foundation’s proposed Supertech University in Kashipur have been cancelled.

Letters of intent were started to be given to these universities from the year 2011-12. This decision has been taken due to non-fulfillment of the standards of the government and not responding in time. The decision was taken following the opinion of the Justice Department. Letter of Intent of University of North West Himalayas extended till July 2023, letter of intent was given for three years for the first time on 3 October 2016.

Roorkee University’s path easier due to the resignation of the officer. The obstacle in the way of the proposal of the proposed Roorkee University in Roorkee of Satyam Educational Society has been removed. This was possible after the removal of a senior functionary, who was facing legal action in the scholarship scam, from the society. After studying all the aspects, HPC has decided to bring the proposal of this university before the upcoming cabinet.
