Dehradun: A comprehensive action plan should be prepared in a scientific manner to prevent migration in the state: Chief Minister Dhami

Dehradun: Under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, a meeting of the Rural Development and Migration Prevention Commission was organized at the Secretariat on Friday. The Chief Minister said that a comprehensive action plan should be prepared in a scientific manner to prevent migration in the state.

For rapid growth in the livelihood of the people in the hilly areas, action plans will have to be made on a wide scale. Small and medium scale industries are being promoted in the hilly areas by the government. Along with increasing the livelihood of the people in the hilly areas, continuous efforts are being made to increase education and health facilities. Continuous efforts are being made to promote industry, tourism, agriculture and horticulture. He said that people who are connecting others with self-employment as well as self-employment in the hilly areas of the state by doing reverse migration, such people should be encouraged. He said that in order to prevent migration from rural areas, there is a need to pay special attention to schemes focused on villages. The Chief Minister said that it should be ensured that the common people get full benefit of the schemes of the Central and State Government related to increasing livelihood resources and infrastructure development in rural areas.

Vice President of Rural Development and Migration Prevention Commission Dr. S. s. Negi said that so far 19 reports have been submitted by the commission to the state government. The report of Udham Singh Nagar district will also be submitted soon. He said that the trend of people is increasing in the direction of reverse migration. Dinesh Rawat, a member of the Rural Development and Migration Prevention Commission, suggested that in order to promote agriculture and horticulture in the state, protective measures have to be taken to protect the crops from wild animals. CM Solar Self Employment Scheme will have to be further promoted in the state. Member Mr. Suresh Suyal suggested that Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) have to be promoted in the villages. In hilly areas, youth and women will have to be linked to maximum self-employment. Ram Prakash is Panyu, this will give further boost to religious tourism and livelihood of the people at the local level will also increase. To promote self-employment, nodal officers will have to be appointed in every district.

Ranjana Rawat suggested that MSMEs have to be further promoted in hilly areas. Improved quality seeds should be available to the farmers on time, if they are taking high quality seeds from outside, then they should get subsidy for this on time. Anil Shahi said that efforts will have to be made in the direction of taking forward the development schemes considering the villages as the centre. To promote the marginal areas, consideration will have to be given towards starting the Seemant Darshan scheme.On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Secretary B.V.R. C. Purushottam, Additional Secretary Neetika Khandelwal were present.
