Dead Body of Army Soldier’s wife found hanging from a tree in Haldwani
Haldwani : The body of a soldier’s wife, who was missing for nine days, was found hanging from a tree on the bank of a drain on Thursday in Haldwani of Uttarakhand. The body was badly decomposed and some parts of the body had been torn off by dogs. The police was searching for him ever since he went missing. The dead body found in badly decomposed condition was identified by the family members by the clothes. Lalit, a resident of Naik Mukhani, is retired from the Army as a Subedar. His two sons are also in the army and he lived here with his 45-year-old wife Taradevi.
According to the information, Tara suddenly went missing on March 26. His mobile was at home. On March 30, Mukhani police registered a missing complaint, but Tara was not found. On Thursday, people saw the woman’s body hanging from a walnut tree standing on the bank of the drain behind the GNG Ground in Kamluwaganja. Police reached the spot after receiving information and called Tara’s family members. Who identified him by his clothes, however, even after calling, Lalit did not reach the spot. After which the police reached Lalit’s house and identified him by showing his photo.
Lalit told that Tara was mentally ill and was undergoing treatment from AIIMS for the last 5 years. Mukhani police station incharge Pankaj Joshi said that after identification, the body has been sent for post-mortem, the heel of one leg of the body has been scratched by animals. Probably for this reason the clothes below the waist are missing. Police say that the cause of death will become clear after the post mortem report comes.
