Britain/New Delhi; Bindiya Rani has put another medal in India’s bag on the second day of the Commonwealth Games 2022. In the 55 kg category of weightlifting, Bindiya has won the silver medal lifting a total of 202 kg. Bindiya lifted 86 kg in the snatch round, while in the clean and jerk round, the Indian female weightlifter lifted the historic medal by lifting 116 kg.
Bindiya had failed in her second attempt of the clean and jerk round, but in her third attempt, she surprised everyone with her performance by lifting 116 kg more than expected. This was the fourth medal in a single day for India in weightlifting. Mirabai Chanu won the country’s first gold in the same game, while Sanket won the silver and Gururaja won the bronze.
