Narendranagar: On the second day of the eight-day Shri Kunjapuri Tourism and Development Fair, Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bahuguna participated in the fair as a chief guest. On Friday, the sports competitions/evetns was formally inaugurated by Chief Guest Saurabh Bahuguna by hoisting the flag and lighting the lamp in the main market of Narendranagar. Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal and other dignitaries were present on this occasion. Chief Guest Saurabh Bahuguna met the participants of the volleyball competition and inaugurated the men’s and women’s volleyball open competition by cutting the ribbon.
On this occasion, the Cabinet Minister inspected the stalls related to public welfare schemes set up by various departments. Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal expressed his gratitude to the chief guest on behalf of the entire area and people associated with sports. The chief guest said that sports is such a thing which highlights the spirit of victory and team in the players. Today drug addiction is the biggest problem in the society and the youth are capable of getting rid of it. Only sports can keep the new generation away from drugs. On this occasion, the students of Guru Ram Rai Public School presented a welcome song and cultural program. The I.T.B.P. soldiers played the sweet sound of the band and the artists of the cultural team presented a beautiful performance of Chholiya dance, which mesmerized everyone. Along with this, a march past was done by the students of various local schools. On this occasion, Chief Narendranagar Rajendra Bhandari, Indian Player Mandeep Kumar, Hockey Asian Games Medalist Anwar Khan, Fair Secretary Devendra Singh Negi, former Municipal Council President Rajendra Vikram Singh Pawar, Councilor Saket Bijlavan, Volleyball Coordinator Dinesh Uniyal along with Narpal Bhandari, Manoj Bhandari, Yashpal Singh Rana, Rajpal Pundir, Vikram Singh Rawat, Mahesh Gusai, Dinesh Gusai and other members of the sports committee were present.
