Blast in Manipur, two ITBP personnel injured in the blast, both are from Uttarakhand
Imphal: Two jawans who were on duty for the assembly elections were injured, both of them are residents of Uttarakhand. The blast took place in Kakching district of Manipur. Two Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel on election duty were injured in the bomb blast. Police said on Monday that the blast took place around 8 pm on Sunday in Wangu Tera area, about 60 km from state capital Imphal. ITBP personnel were on night patrol when the blast took place. He has been posted here in view of the assembly elections in the state.
He said that both the jawans injured in the accident are residents of Uttarakhand. Both are being treated at a hospital in Imphal. Polling for the Manipur Assembly elections will be held in two phases on February 28 and March 5. Counting of votes will be done on March 10.
