AP : Ex Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu arrested in corruption case
Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu was arrested on Saturday morning in an alleged corruption case. Andhra Pradesh Police officer gave this information. The former Andhra Pradesh chief minister was arrested by a Crime Investigation Department (CID) team from RK Function Hall at Gnanapuram in Nandyal town at around 6 am on Saturday, they said. In the notice served to Naidu, CID’s Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) Deputy Superintendent of Police M Dhanunjudu said, ‘This is to inform you that you were arrested at 6 am from RK Function Hall, Moolasagaram’s residence at Gyanapuram in Nandyal town. And it is a non-bailable offence.
According to the notice, Naidu has been arrested under sections 120B (criminal conspiracy), 420 (cheating) and 465 (forgery) including other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). According to the notice, Andhra Pradesh CID has also invoked sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act (PMLA) against the former chief minister. Officials said the notice to Naidu was served under section 50 (1) (2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
