Rishikesh : The list of top 50 medical institutions of the country was released on Monday by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). All India Institute of Medical Sciences, AIIMS Rishikesh has got the 14th position among the selected 50 medical institutions of the country this time. Last time AIIMS Rishikesh was at 22nd position. The institute’s executive director Prof. Meenu Singh has called it the result of hard work done through team work.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences, AIIMS Rishikesh has got the 14th position among the selected 50 medical institutions of the country. The Ministry of Education on Monday released the list of National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Ranking 2024. In the list of excellent medical colleges, this time AIIMS Delhi has ranked first in the country by getting a score of 94.46. Whereas AIIMS Rishikesh has gained an edge over last year and has secured 14th position with a score of 63.16. Talking about all the 6 AIIMS institutions built under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana, AIIMS Rishikesh has managed to get the first position in all of them. It is worth mentioning that the list of educational institutions of the country is released by NIRF in many categories. The NIRF ranking started in the year 2016.

It is worth noting that during the tenure of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the foundation stone of AIIMS Rishikesh was laid in the year 2004 by the then Health Minister Sushma Swaraj. During that time, apart from Rishikesh, the central government had also laid the foundation stone of new AIIMS institutes in Patna in Bihar, Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, Bhubaneswar in Odisha, Jodhpur in Rajasthan and Raipur in Chhattisgarh. UG course studies started in AIIMS Rishikesh in the year 2012.

Currently, UG, PG and superspeciality courses in medical, nursing and paramedical are being conducted here. Prof. Meenu Singh is leading the institute as its executive director. In the ranking list released on Monday by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), this time among the All India Medical Institutes built under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana, AIIMS Bhubaneswar has been ranked 15th, AIIMS Jodhpur 16th, AIIMS Patna 26th, AIIMS Bhopal 31st and AIIMS Raipur 38th. AIIMS Rishikesh’s Executive Director Professor (Dr.) Meenu Singh, calling it a big achievement for the institute, said that the institute has achieved this lead only due to the collective efforts of the professors, associate professors, doctors, medical staff, paramedical staff and all other officers and employees of AIIMS Rishikesh. She said that on the basis of team work, our effort will be to achieve the top position in the All India Ranking in future by performing better. The institute’s Public Relations Officer Sandeep Kumar Singh said that in the ranking, the research, academic activities, educational resources, higher studies program and some other parameters of all these medical institutes are tested. He said that AIIMS Rishikesh has achieved this position by performing better in all these.
